Harold, come on.

Once again, we're having some off the field trouble....this time, we had a player TASERED.
Senior safety Harold Dalton was kicked off the team today after getting arrested early this morning....on his 23rd birthday.  He was charged with interference with official acts, disorderly conduct and public intoxication after getting into a bar fight.

He was supposedly throwing glasses in the bar, pushed an employee and then tried to take a swing at him.  He tried hitting the employee again and then was arrested.  He fought the cops and they proceeded to taser him.  Wow.

The sad part--last week Ferentz commented on how happy he was with how the team had been behaving off the field.  Dalton was the third player arrested since the beginning of the season.
1.  Dezman Moses: Public intoxication (Sept. 21)
2.  James Ferentz: illegal underage possession of alcohol (Oct. 17)
3.  Harold Dalton

He didn't play Saturday against Illinois, but did travel with the team.

I also think Moses's arrest came after the loss to Pittsburgh.

What is it with the players going out after they get back to Iowa City from a loss and go looking for trouble?

Some just never learn.

I completely agree! You have to be pretty dumb to go out when you get home from a road game...espicailly after a tough one like that when your emotions are especially high.

Also, the guys aren't getting back till late anyways and curfew for downtown is midnight. What kind of message does that send that they need to "rush out to the bars" within the first 15 minutes they are back in town.

This is especially worse for seniors!!! If your so sad about the loss, how about you go watch some film and figure out why you missed that tackle or dropped that pass, instead of heading out to the bars. Or how about this...if you want to have a beer or two to blow off some steam, DO IT AT HOME!!!

They are not regular college students! They made that decision the day they signed that letter of intent! It's about time they started figuring it out! I'm disgusted...sad part is, they do it every weekend and obviously don't care about anyone but themselves.

Something like this is never acceptable in my opinion because as Nicole said they aren't the normal college student. They are held to a higher standard.

You may see something like this out of a freshman who just arrived at college and made a stupid mistake, but this latest mistake wasn't made by a freshman who didn't know better. It was made by a senior who has been here through all the troubles that football team has had recently and still hasn't learned.

The PAULAs and public intoxications are embarrassing to constantly see in the paper, but some of these other charges are completely pathetic. I mean Dalton had to be tasered! That isn't a minor lapse of judgement, that is a string of judgements that show nothing but disrespect to his teammates who consistently do the right thing and act appropriately.

Aren't the guys who usually get arrested the good athletes? Or at least that's what I've heard, so why haven't they produced when they have been on the team?

Dalton was all about getting crunk after the game.

I mean he's a senior who got beat out by a redshirt freshman (Sash).

I really wonder if some of these guys have their priorities straight.

It seems to me that getting crunk and macking girls are more important than playing football for some of these players.

Disappointing.
